The Toronto Raptors are focused on solidifying their playoff position by seeking a season series sweep against the Miami Heat on Thursday evening.

After a convincing 121-95 home win on Tuesday, the Raptors are currently holding the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race with a 44-35 record, while the Heat (41-38) are destined for the play-in round.

Toronto has dominated the season series against Miami, leading 3-0.

RJ Barrett stressed the importance of maintaining their intensity, acknowledging the Heat’s potential to bounce back in subsequent games. Miami’s head coach Erik Spoelstra expressed disappointment in his team’s lack of competitive spirit, particularly against the Raptors.

Miami has struggled offensively against Toronto this season, being held to under 100 points six times, with three of those instances coming against the Raptors. The Heat have acknowledged the need to match their opponents’ level of play to succeed.

In their recent matchup, the Raptors capitalized on points in the paint and second-chance opportunities, with a significant advantage in both areas. Miami’s defense was commended for limiting Toronto’s access to the paint and forcing outside shots.

Key performances included Andrew Wiggins scoring 24 points for Miami, Scottie Barnes with 25 points for Toronto, and Brandon Ingram adding 23 points.

Toronto received a boost from Immanuel Quickley’s return from injury, contributing impactful minutes in his first game back. Quickley’s play helped alleviate some pressure on Barnes, who excelled defensively.

Toronto reserve Jamal Shead stood out with a game-high 11 assists, showcasing the team’s intensity and urgency throughout the match, despite some defensive lapses that they aim to address moving forward.
