Battle of the Boards: Indiana Pacers Take on the San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are on a roll with a four-game winning streak as they aim for a top spot in the Western Conference. They face the struggling Indiana Pacers on Saturday in a home game.

San Antonio, with a record of 52-18, has won 20 of their last 22 games, most recently beating the Phoenix Suns 101-100 with a game-winning shot by Victor Wembanyama. This victory secured the Spurs’ first playoff appearance since the 2018-19 season.

On the other side, the Indiana Pacers (15-55) are enduring a tough season, currently at the bottom of the Eastern Conference after a franchise-record 15-game losing streak. In their recent 127-119 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Ivica Zubac led the team with 18 points.

Head Coach Rick Carlisle emphasized the team’s need for consistent energy throughout the game. Zubac, who suffered a head contusion and a fractured rib in the last game, is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

The Pacers haven’t won a game since February and are tied with the Washington Wizards for the fewest road wins in the league. The Spurs previously defeated the Pacers 123-113 on January 2 in Indianapolis.
